The logo

The Murali mark: three touching ovals in blue, violet, and coral.

The Murali mark is three touching ovals, in blue, violet, and coral. It sits in the navbar. On the home page, it moves.

Three domains

The three ovals stand for three domains close to the author's heart:

  • Mathematics
  • Machine Learning
  • Software Systems

The name

Murali is the most beautiful music that came from Lord Krishna's flute. The project is named for that sound.

The motion

The squish of the logo is the essence of Murali, given a shape. Each oval swells up from a shared baseline and eases back to rest, the way a note rises and releases. The three take their own parts of one phrase, then settle into the mark again. The animation is a visual form of the music the name comes from.

The home page loops that phrase. When the browser asks for less motion, the still mark is shown instead.

To use the mark in a scene, see Storytelling and composites.
